What is drayage?
One of the most commonly confused terms in logistics, “drayage” can simply be thought of as the very first step of your container’s journey from ship-to-shelf. There are often a number of “legs” of the drayage load’s journey, but they usually cover only a small distance and all occur within the same metropolitan area. So, in short, drayage is defined as the transport of goods over a short distance.
